Georgina Wilson on being a Showtime hurado

Commercial and print model Georgina Wilson still remains as one of the hurados of ABS-CBN’s Showtime.

She revealed that she was really scared at first when she was asked to be one of the guest judges last January 2011. But now she finds it an enjoyable job and she has now so much respect for the production people after she had seen how much hard work they put in to make every episode. Georgina was also able to show that she actually has a good singing voice in Showtime’s “Sampol Sampol” segment.

Shalani Soledad on real score with Willie Revillame

Valenzuela City councilor and TV host Shalani Soledad revealed in a recent interview the real score between her and Willing Willie main host Willie Revillame.

“Co-host ni Willie” was her short answer. So how does she explain Willie’s gestures on Willing Willie in one of its segments where he seems to be interested in her. “Naku, si Willie, I think he’s ano… [in his] usual charming self. Ganyan naman yata si Willie,” she said. Shalani started co-hosting Willing Willie last November 8, 2010.

They were dismayed with the reports that Diaz died at Estevez Memorial Hospital in Legazpi City. The report of his death allegedly came from the said hospital.

Ayala Alabang requires prescription for contraceptives

The Sangguniang Barangay of Ayala Alabang in Muntinlupa City released an ordinance that requires, among others, pharmacies within Ayala Alabang to ask for a prescription before selling contraceptives.

The ordinance took effect yesterday, February 24. Meanwhile, some residents of the barangay are against the ordinance, “It’s a multicultural barangay with residents from other countries, and these people have different religious and cultural beliefs, which I think should be respected,” said Ayala Alabang Village resident Kevin Punzalan.

Azkals vs Mongolia Game 2 Live on Studio 23

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Challenge Cup second leg or game 2 between the Philippine Azkals and the Mongolian Blue Wolves will be aired live on Studio 23 at 12 noon.

The game is set on March 15, 2011 in Ulan Bator, Mongolia. The Azkals beat the Blue Wolves in the first game, 2 goals to none. This time around, the Azkals need to at least tie with the Mongolians to advance.

GMA 7 - Presents Sisid

Sisid is an upcoming drama series on GMA 7.

Members of its cast include Dominic Roco, Jackie Rice, JC Tiuseco, Ian Batherson, and Bembol Roco. The series is currently on hold because Jackie Rice is having a difficult time learning how to swim. “May trauma po yata siya sa tubig… Kaya alalay lang po kami sa kanya kapag nagti-training.” Dominic said. The lead casts had to take up lessons on scuba diving and swimming for their roles in this series.

Ace comedian and TV host Vic Sotto revealed some details about his yet-untitled-movie with Bea Alonzo and Zaijian Jaranilla (more popularly known as Santino).

“Ako’y isang faith healer na gumagamit ng alternative medicine. By stroke of faith nakilala ko si Zaijian who’s from heaven, na siya yung talagang may powers to heal people. On the side, si Bea naman is a doctor of medicine. So it’s a clash between science and faith healing. So kung papaano kami magka-clash at magkakagustuhan yun ang malaking problema.” he said. The said movie is a joint project between Star Cinema and M-Zet Productions. Vic also clarified that there will be no kissing scene between him and Bea.

10-year-old Filipina-Canadian Maria Aragon appeared on the The Ellen DeGeneres Show Tuesday.

“You should just know she believes in you enough that she asked you to do it [sing a duet with Lady Gaga in her concert] so enjoy it,” DeGeneres told Aragon. She also performed her rendition of Born This Way. You can catch the interview and performance on YouTube. Aragon is also set to appear on the show “Good Morning America.”

Donaire No. 3 in pound-for-pound list

In a flash, Nonito Donaire Jr. is now up the leaderboard.

The 28-year-old Filipino, by virtue of his sensational knockout win over Mexican Fernando Montiel last Sunday, is now ranked No. 3 in The Ring Magazine’s pound-for-pound list.

Donaire, who hits like no other in his class, stopped Montiel with a left hook to the temple. There could be no better way to deliver the winning punch as slo-mo replays showed.

It gave Donaire the World Boxing Council and World Boxing Organization bantamweight titles, which come after his International Boxing Federation flyweight crown in 2007.

It also pushed Donaire to the top three of The Ring’s pound-for-pound list, next only to fellow Filipino Manny Pacquiao and undefeated American Floyd Mayweather Jr.

A few other boxing bodies, boxing websites and boxing experts come up with their own pound-for-pound list, but none probably as prestigious than that of The Ring’s.

It is considered the Bible of boxing.

It should be the first time that two Filipino fighters landed on the top three of The Ring’s pound-for-pound list.

Before he knocked out Montiel in the 57-second mark of the second round at Mandalay Bay, Donaire was fifth in The Ring’s coveted pound-for-pound list.

Now behind him are Sergio Martinez of Argentina, Juan Manuel Marquez of Mexico, Pongsaklek Wonjongkam of Thailand, Wladimir Klitschko of Ukraine, Tim Bradley of the United States, Juan Manuel Lopez of Puerto Rico and Giovani Segura, also of the US.

He moved on top of the bantamweight class, followed by Anselmo Moreno of Panama, Joseph Agbeko of Ghana, Abner Mares of Mexico and Montiel, who said he’d “never been hurt as bad before.”

“It wasn’t a simple choice for the magazine’s editorial board, which read the views and opinions of dozens of members of The Ring Ratings Panel before making their decision,” wrote Dough Fischer.

“It took more time to discuss where Nonito Donaire would be rated in the pound-for-pound rankings than it did to update the entire divisional rankings,” said Nigel Collins, editor-in-chief of The Ring, in the magazine’s website.

“Advancing him to No. 3 means that he overtakes middleweight world champion Sergio Martinez (No. 3 last week) and world lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez (No. 4 last week). The decision was made even more difficult because both Martinez and Marquez have recently defended their titles via knockout against top-notch challengers.

“In the end, however, it was impossible to ignore Donaire’s overpowering performances in his last 10 fights, nine of which he won via knockout or TKO. The ‘Filipino Flash’ is on a helluva roll, one that could conceivably see him climb even higher in future months,” Collins said.

Donaire almost blew Montiel’s head off with his left hook, and grazed the Mexican with an uppercut on the way down. Montiel’s legs twitched the moment he hit the canvas.

Yes, when Montiel wobbled up, the referee allowed him to continue to fight. Donaire pounced on Montiel on the ropes, and the referee stepped in to stop the execution.

“The one with (Vic) Darchinyan was sweet. But this was the hardest,” said Donaire, who now has a lot of options. He can lord if over the ring as a bantamweight or move up a couple notches higher.

The Ring described the blow as a “punch from hell.”

Hell for Montiel was heaven for Donaire.

“Oh maybe you’re just gonna have to come onstage with me and sing that song [Born This Way]. What do you think?” Gaga asked Maria during a phone conversation that was aired on Winnipeg radio station Hot 103 last February 18. “That would be really cool!” answered Maria. She will be flown to Toronto by Virgin Radio in March to watch Lady Gaga’s show there. Her Born This Way cover on YouTube now has 10,518,814 views as of posting time and still counting.

TV host-comedian John Lapus has threatened to file a libel complaint against radio host-columnist Jobert Sucaldito for accusing him of getting nearly hit by a bottle of Fundador in the head for harassing a certain “Kiko.”

“I am suing Jobert Sucadito, the showbiz editor of Bandera Ervin Santiago and her publisher Eileen G. Mangubat,” said Lapus. “This is also sa lahat ng mga tao na mga arista for that matter na inokray ni Jobert in the past at ginawan ng maling artikulo. This is for direk Wenn Deramas, Candy Pangilinan, Marian Rivera, Baby James Yap or even Dr. Vicky Belo. This is for all of us that’s why I’m suing,” Lapus added. Sucaldito claims that he has an audio recording of the incident.

Hayden Kho and Vicki Belo Wedding

Doctor to the Stars Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho are reportedly going to have their wedding this year.

This was accidentally revealed by Yolanda Hadid, fiancee of international singer David Foster. “I’m getting married 11-11-11 [November 11, 2011]. They’re [Belo and Kho] getting married on 12,” she allegedly said in an interview. Hadid flew in from the United States to attend the opening of Belo’s newest clinic in Greenbelt, Makati. The couple refused to comment on the rumored wedding.

Her cover of Lady Gaga’s song “Born This Way” now has 1,172,315 views as of this posting because it was promoted no less than Lady Gaga herself. “Can’t stop crying watching this. This is why I make music. She is the future.” the multiplatinum pop superstar reportedly tweeted to her more than 8 million Twitter followers. One of Maria’s dreams is to perform on Ellen Degeneres’ show.

Donaire vs Montiel Free Live Streaming

The Filipino Flash, Nonito Donaire (25-1, 17 KOs) is out to take the WBC and WBO Bantamweight belts of Mexican Fernando Montiel (44-2-2, 34 KOs) in a 12-round fight on February 19 (Feb. 20, Sunday morning in Manila) at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas.

The fight dubbed “Ang Pagtutuos: Nonito Donaire vs. Fernando Montiel” will be aired via delayed telecast on ABS-CBN starting at 10:15AM, Sunday (replay at 11:30PM) and 9PM on Studio 23. Previously titled “Moral,” it will be topbilled by Nadine Samonte and Maxene Magalona. Members of its cast include Luis Alandy at Marco Alcaraz. It will replace the series, “Koreana” and will be directed by Jay Altarejos.

Fashion designer Puey Quiñones on alleged fashion scam

Fashion designer Puey Quiñones aired his side on the alleged fashion scam that is currently the talk of the town.

But let us first give you a brief background of what happened. A certain Jhon Maala ordered a custom-made suit from Puey Quiñones that he will used for his wedding. The suit was later on delivered and he was charged 30,000 pesos for it. This is where the alleged “fashion scam” started because Jhon discovered that the said suit has two labels, Bobon by Puey Quiñones and a Dansen care label in the hidden pocket. Puey Quiñones has reportedly issued a statement and public apology. He is doing the best that he can to fix the situation and make sure that it does not happen again.

Actor Sam Milby denied the rumor that he was spotted in a bar on a date with DJ Andi Manzano.

“No. Andi and I are not dating… we only have common friends. Same group of friends,” he reportedly said. Asked if there is a possibility of them being together in the future, Sam answered: “Possibly it could happen but we are just friends talaga,” he said. When he’s not working, the hunk actor spends his time doing motorcross. He is currently preparing for The National Motocross Championship and the Asian Motocross Event.

Charice: Home for Valentines in GMA 7

International singing sensation Charice will be having a TV special for GMA-7 titled “Charice: Home for Valentine’s.”

It will be aired on February 13. Ogie Alcasid, Rachelle Ann Go and Elmo Magalona are just some of the artists that are included in the show. Charice was supposed to shoot a Christmas special for GMA last November but it didn’t push through because she was sick with the stomach flu.

Meet the New Charlie’s Angels

The cast for ABC’s reboot of the classic action series in the 70s has been completed.

The new Charlie’s Angels are:

Minka Kelly, 30 y/o (Friday Night Lights)

Annie Ilonzeh, 27 y/o (General Hospital)

Rachael Taylor, 26 y/o (Transformers, Grey’s Anatomy)

The series’ focus will be on three women who work as a team of private investigators in Miami who receive their orders from the mysterious Charlie Townsend (Robert Wagner voices him in this incarnation).

Serving as one of the executive producers for the show is actress Drew Barrymore, who also played a Charlie’s angel in two films. Alfred Gough and Miles Millar from Smallville will be the writers for the series.

John Estrada apologizes to Willie Revillame

Actor John Estrada has apologized to TV host Willie Revillame for accepting a noontime show project on ABS-CBN.

“..alam ko na nasaktan ka at humihingi ako ng dispensa. Pero mamatay na buong pamilya ko, nung pinatawag ako [ng ABS-CBN], ikaw ang una kong inisip at sinabi ko kay Randy kailangan kausapin ka na namin. Kaya lang tuma-timing kami, pero ‘yun nga naunahan na naman,” part of John Estrada’s purported text message to Revillame. Willie was really upset that John and Randy Santiago accepted the offer from the Kapamilya network when he has been in a negotiation with TV5 executives for a noontime show for them.

Actor Piolo Pascual revealed the real score between him and actress-TV host KC Concepcion.

In an interview with Charlene Gonzales on ABS-CBN’s The Buzz, Piolo said that he and KC are in a romantic relationship that started last October 21. It took the actor two years of wooing before KC finally said yes. “For the first time in more than 8 years, I’m getting into a relationship, a commitment. And I’m planning to keep it,” he said. Meanwhile, KC Concepcion is happy that Piolo opened up about their relationship.

ABS-CBN network will soon launch a new noontime variety show.

The said show will be hosted by Toni Gonzaga, Mariel Rodriguez, Randy Santiago and John Estrada. It still has no working title as of posting time. Meanwhile, Willing Willie host Willie Revillame was reportedly upset over the decision of John and Randy to return to ABS-CBN when he was already negotiating for them to also do a noontime show on TV5.

Willie Revillame had a phone conversation with John Estrada, which was seen live on his TV show, TV5′s Willing Willie.

Willie was visibly upset that John and Randy Santiago accepted an offer from ABS-CBN to do a noontime show when apparently he has already negotiated with the executives of TV5 in behalf of John and Randy. “Pag nag-Channel 2 ka at nag-noontime show ka dyan, wala kang kaibigan na Willie. Masakit ‘yang gagawin niyo sa’kin dahil inayos ko na, nag-meeting na ko kagabi, tungkol sa noontime show dito [TV5]. ‘Yun lang.” he said. “Hindi na ko pupunta sa kasal mo [John's wedding], maghanap ka na ng ibang best man,” he added.
