HIV-positive Marcelino Cavestany now allowed to enter the Philippines

Naturalized Australian citizen and theater actor-director Marcelino Cavestany has now been allowed entry to the Philippines.

The Bureau of Immigration revoked the order banning Cavestany from entering the country for being HIV-positive. He was blocked by immigration agents last March 6, at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport citing a blacklist order signed by then Immigration Commissioner Marcelino Libanan saying that he “intends to spread his AIDS (HIV positive) disease.”
