Nonito Donaire Jr reconciles with dad

WBO and WBC bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire, Jr. and wife Rachel Marcial Donaire reportedly reconciled with Nonito Donaire, Sr. ending a rift that lasted three years.

Nonito Jr. and Rachel went to Nonito Sr.’s home in California and had a heart-to-heart talk. “We just want to make things right. Both sides suffered a lot of pain, suffered a lot of everything from sleepless nights and embarrassment,” the boxing superstar said.

Red Cross and Eat Bulaga mark Francis Magalona’s 2nd death anniversary with blood donation drive

The Philippine Red Cross in cooperation with GMA-7′s noontime show Eat Bulaga held a mass blood donation drive yesterday, March 5 at Eat Bulaga Studio, GMA-7 Broadway Centrum, Cubao, Quezon City to commemorate the 2nd death anniversary of master rapper Francis Magalona.

Magalona died of acute myelogenous leukemia on March 6, 2009. He was one of the blood beneficiaries of the Red Cross Blood Program.

The Philippine Azkals football team is on the cover of the March 2011 issue or the “Men Issue” of Metro Society magazine.

The cover features Neil Etheridge, Rob Gaier, Jason de Jong, Aly Borromeo, Anton del Rosario and Simon Greenwich wearing Louis Vuitton suits flown in from the United States. The said issue is scheduled to be released on March 10 and is expected to be a big hit in Bacolod and Iloilo where the team have a huge fan base.

SexBomb Dancers guested on Happy, Yipee, Yehey!

All-female dance group “Sex Bomb Dancers” guested on ABS-CBN’s noontime show “Happy Yipee Yehey,” last March 5.

The show’s hosts Mariel Rodriguez, Toni Gonzaga, Randy Santiago and John Estrada were excited with the development. Although it was just a guesting, the group was reportedly dropped from Happy Yipee Yehey’s rival, the longest-running noontime show in the Philippines, “Eat Bulaga.” The reason for dropping them was “conflict of interest” according to the group’s manager, Joy Cancio.

Actress Angelica Panganiban on Thursday engaged in a “Twitter war” against the fans of Azkals striker Phil Younghusband.

It all started when Angelica tweeted, “Si Phil may indie film? Akala ko ba football player siya??? Lahat na lang artista na. Sad.” Minutes after her tweet, Azkals fans came to the rescue and replied to her. But there’s this one particular fan, @anilmorales who earned the ire of Angelica. “@anilmorales” used profanities directed to Angelica and her boyfriend actor Derek Ramsey just to defend Phil. Angelica was so upset that she will reportedly take the matter to court (libel?).
